Hi guys/gals Just wondering about the rocky mountain whitefish fishery on the vedder. If anyone has any info for me please fill me in. |

I realize your question was for the Vedder, but for your love of whitefish, you should visit the Stave River on the North-east side. There is plenty of these fish in front of the Park where you'll see people targeting cutthroats, etc.. I caught a few with small spinners while targeting other fish.

When I was younger I used to catch whitefish after whitefish on the Stave on #6 hooks tipped with a piece of krill. Just fish it under a float ner the bottom in any flowy water and you'll be sure to get some nice ones.

Hey Crunch, I remember catching LOTS of Whitefish in the Vedder during the 70's...but ever since they started clearing out the log jams, there hasn't been too many places for them to "hole-up". I may be mistaken since I don't fish the Vedder much anymore...maybe some of the regulars could help you with this one.

The vedder is full of whitefish.Ever been fishing steelies when u keep getting that big bite on roe and cant seem to hook it??Its a whitefish boys.If you want to catch lots of white fish go to the ranger run and use small hooks and a little piece of dew worm works great

I really admire the mountain whitefish. They look like river herring. Beats the hell out of catching nothing sometimes. I once had a world record mountain whitefish. I should have whacked that poor guy but he was so pretty that I let him go. I guess after looking at so many boots the old chrome whitefish looks pretty damn good.

Gotta love them B.C.BoneFish eh! We have spring time fishing turny's for BC boners and suckers on Carpender lake . Loads of fun with loads of Booze! Any bait will git em,but my fave is a small hook with worm chunk or the good ole bacon pattern!Fishes best when aged a few days behind the seat of your truck!
