I am down in Texas and a bunch of us are coming up to Williams Lake through
Vancouver and will head east to Esscotby resort. Anyway, some of us want
to try our luck for Pike. Now I understand that BC is not a pike fisherman's
nirvanna, but if we could do a flyout north of that area, does anybody know
of a service that could put us into some pike water.
Thanks

You'd have to fly pretty far north of the Anahim Lake area to find Pike.
They are typically found in the arctic watershed side of this province,
over towards the Peace River drainage and the Liard River drainage. ie:
the NE quadrant of the Province. The area within a half hour float plane
trip from Escott Bay Resort will get you into some nice size Dolly Varden
which are the pike of the trout world.

One suggestion if you're still big on Pike fishing is Gwillim Lake.
It's between Tumbler Ridge and Chetwyn. The lake's just off the
highway, and you need a tin boat to get to the far end of the lake, where
the shoal's are. The lake's pretty big; once at the far end it's
sight fishing for pike in about 4-8 ft. of water. The biggest I caught was
well over 40"; a real gator! (well for me anyways) First time
I'd ever caught pike. Never had so much fun! Also Charlie Lake right
in Ft. St. John has got pike too, but not nearly as much fun, cause the
water tends to be quite murky.
