Trout fishing

What can I use when fishing for trout from shore?

There's not a trout in the swim (wild or hatchery) that can resist a brass #1 Mepps spinner.

If the regs allow it, try a worm and bobber. I have caught so many trout doing that. But make sure to set the hook quickly because if you let a rainbow chew on a worm for more than 2 or 3 seconds it will be hooked too deep for a successful release. If you are going for brookies, give them a little longer to taste it.
Other than worms, mepps, panther martins, and blue fox spinners all tend to work quite well. I've also had some really nice trout on smaller rapala countdowns in the spring, but I would definately check the regs on that one because of the two treble hooks.
