Orange Worm Parasite found in Lake Trout

Caught a nice lake trout last night and when we opened it up, a long, thin, bright orange worm was discovered in the abdominal cavity. It was about 2" long, and the width of dental floss. It basically looked like bright orange fly-line (which is what we thought it was until it moved).

We caught the fish in Cluculz Lake, BC (in North-Central BC - Omenica-Peace Region).

Any links or information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Dean and Cath

spiny-headed worm could be your culprit

I fish Cluculz quite often, and I ve never seen those. (not that I'm complaining of course).
