Doesn't look like anyone has been talking for awhile so i thought i'd
say a few words. I am from the okanagan area and fish for largemouth Bass.
Planning a trip to abbotsford area spring 2001 and wanted some advice on
some hotspots for LMB. Went out vaseaux and osoyoos lakes last fall and
got some super pictures of largemouths ill try to post them soon(3-4lbs).
When is Swan lake outside of Vernon getting stalked with some largemouth???
I heard about a year ago from an article in canadian sportfishing magazine.
Cant wait till spring.

Not too sure, just ask all the locals $#@(@*#& that stocked
smallies and perch in gardom lake and lots of the lakes around the shuswap.
I never heard about the biologists stalking LMB in Swan lake. I'd be
quite surprised if they did!!! Maybe someone else can shed some light on
this as it is news to me.

In the Abbotsford area there is Walmsly(sp) Lake near the Abbotsford
Airport in a small park and Mill Lake right in town behind the mall. There
are other areas in the Abbotsford/Aldergrove area close to the US border
but these are the two that I have been told about specifically for Bass.
Mill Lake is also stocked with Rainbows.

Hey Ben,
If you live in the Okanagan...why on earth would you come HERE for Bass
Fishing?
Walmsley "Lake" is nothing but an old gravel pit filled with goose
$hit, used condoms and beer bottles. Mill Lake isn't much better.
If I were you (living in the beautiful OK), I'd stick to Vaseux,
Osoyoos and Skaha Lakes...definitely CLEANER and definitely MORE fish!

Macaroon just want a change of scenery and hopefully structure. Vaseaux
is great and so is osoyoos. I have caught 6 fish in the province that exceed
5 lbs and hope to broaden my knowledge of bass waters in B.C. I am curious
to catch bass near vanvouver as i have relatives that live near there also.
Have you had the chance to fish near cranbrook yet??????????
|
No Ben,
Duck Lake is merely a dream for me. I have read all about the excellent
Bass fishing in the backwaters surrounding Creston as well, but it too will
have to wait a while longer.
I still say that Walmsley Lake would be a waste of your time. If you absolutely
MUST fish in this aread, then you could TRY Mill Lake...just don't EAT
anything you catch!
