I'm looking for any imformation I can find on steelhead holding areas under different conditions,can any-one help.

3M produces some good movies on steelhead. One by Jim Teeny is good at giving some pointers on where fish will lie. Most material by Barry Thornton is informative. The very best way to learn where steelhead will lie under different river conditions is to pick a river that you can sight fish. Fish this river in every imaginable condition from dead low to blown out. Blown-out is not time to quit fishing it's really the time to find the most productive water. When rivers get very high or very low fish will concentrate. When rivers are flowing nicely fish spread out. Learn one river well and the spots that fish lay will apply to most others that you will fish.

another great video is the flyfishing for steelhead series by 3m with lanny waller. even if u aren't a flyfisherman i would reccomend picking up the 1st of the series Fly fishing for pacifiac steelhead. It will provide ample information on location, holding, behavior, feeding, etc...
