Large Mouth Bass - lower mainland distribution

I have just read you page on bass i can confirm have got largemouth bass in the burnette river average size 7-10 inch lots of small bass 5-7 inch though , lately only trout though near north road

In response to the last report on Largemouth Bass, kill every single Bass you encounter on all Lower mainland systems!!! They are NOT native, they shouldn't be here, and they are only here because some FOOLS (Bass Club) have taken it upon themselves to ILLEGALLY stock them in salmon bearing systems. Kill them all!!!

StaveDave,

I don't know what Bass Club you're referring too, but it's not our. The West Coast Bass Anglers have never supported the illegal stocking. We are trying to get BC Fisheries to go with the findings of their own study and stock bass in select waters.

As for killing non-native fish, unless your last name is Runningbear, you're non-native too. What should we do about that? (no offense meant to our Native people intended)

What time of the year do the bass in the lower mainland ((start)) to get active?
Thanks

Rifleman,

Usually in March when the temps get above 10c. I'm starting probably after the Tradex show (March 1-3). I'll hit the water the following weekend.

Thanks
I'm going to try it out this year for the first time. I have wanted to try for a large mouth for a couple of years now after I meet some Bass club at the Abby trade show but with my cutty, Kokanee , and other lake fishing I do in may and June I just have not found the time. With you saying you start in March I will give it a try in April. I believe the guys at the trade show said the boys out in mission sell bass baits.
Any ways thanks again
Cheers to this week's Steelhead.

Rifle,

It's the West Coast Bass Anglers you saw at the Tradex. I'll see you there next weekend if you go to the show. I work Fri-Sunday at the Tradex. Our new and improved Bass Guide could help you find and catch bass. We're selling them at the show for a twoonie.

You can get bass gear at Hubs Sports in Abbotsford, or Berry's Bait and Tackle in Richmond. Or, if you don't mind mail ordering, try www.lebaron.ca They are a Canadian mail order company based in ON and PQ.
