Help with Identification of trout

Caught and released many trout in the past week, but 2 looked different.

The 1st was a Rainbow with small red spots below the lateral line.

The 2nd was 14", a golden colour with large black spots and a large mouth. Did not look like the 5lb German Brown I caught and kept last year.

First of all, Rainbow don't have red spots, anywhere on their body or head or tail. It would have to be a dolly varden or a brook trout. The second fish sounds a bit more like a cutthroat trout. Did it have a red slash under its throat??
Where are you fishing??
If you are fishing in a stream and these fish are wild, I hope you are releasing them.
It sounds like you need to take a good look at your fish identification page in the fishing synopsis. You should always first educate yourself to be able to identify fish and game species before you target them.
