FISHERMEN ETHICS

<14069>
I just went fishing with a friend for Springs this last weekend. We got to the one spot we thought we could fish at but it was taken. The next morning we got up a bit earlier and got to the same spot but a barfisherman was there already, after asking him if he mind us fishing besides him and he saying it was ok we proceeded to cast and fish. A few minutes later he had a fish on but missed it. A few minutes later the other crew that was fishing there the day before came in. The one guy proceed to set up his/her rods right besides me without even saying good morning, making it hard for me to even cast over his line. A few minutes later his wife landed the first fish of the day, her rod went right back on the spot. A few minutes later he landed the next fish, the rod back on. The next fish came on his wife's rod which they allowed their son in-law to land. By this time we were starting to think that barfishing was the way to go at this spot so we went and got the set up for it. We came back and found only the one group that landed the only three fish that AM but by now the had set up 5 fishing rods the prime area and when we tried to hit a bit of the area they complained that our lines were going to cross theirs. We didn't think it was worth argueing about it, packed it up and went to a different place without any luck. Our last morning there, We thought if we got up even earlier we might be able to hit spot first, wrong. There were two guys there already. The funny part was that the other family was walking in behing us and trying to bit us to the spot but knowing their intentions we walked a bit faster and bit them there. When they got there she wasn't too happy and said some unfriendly remarks, not worth a reply. This morning they had to settle for the end of the line after trying to but-in in the prime water. We came home without a fish and with a sower experience. Why are we so selfish and unethicals?

Materialism: it's the value of the fish that does it

MEAT!!

Ray,you better take off that skirt,when you go meat fishing.If that spot is for meat fishing,you should find yourself a nice little pond,with little or no breeze for that dry fly.The meat holes are for spilling blood and spilling beer and for filling the freezer.Not much sport,I agree,but then the sport part is overrated anyhow.

Try fishing the Thompson on a nice hot day. If one persons fishing a spot it must be the best spot on the whole river. SPREAD OUT

Lets not even get into the Vedder.
