After a fairly heated debate which I sort of feel sort of over the barrel on with Bongo, I sort of reflect on past arguments I notice and have been involved in and I really wonder if we, as fisher people can be objective when the things we debate/argue over involve fish, and fishing, things that are so dearly personal and important in our lives. I think after a while, even the most objective arguments seem to turn into something we take personal and words are exchanged, and then eventually we start feeling guilty. Is this sort of thing something that is always going to be part of this board? For some reason, I don't think it will dissappear, even amongst the people who we all look up to. And by the way Bongo, I have a deep respect for the job the DFO officials do, that may be why I became so heated and so aggressive about my stance towards you in the past issue. I don't think they're idiots, and they need all the support they can get, because they are tryin to do the job that 3 people should do, especially our officers. I apoligize if I came accross as a d*nk.

Having something be "deeply personal and important in our lives" is no excuse for bad behaviour. Believe it or not, it IS possible to discuss an issue that hits close to home but still keep a civil tongue in one's head. Try it some time, you'll be amazed at the results...no more guilt nor apologies needed being just a couple. Use caution in blaming "the board". Perhaps your question should have been "Is this sort of thing something that is always going to be part of me?" Only you can determine, or change, that.
