Clamming

I realize this is a "fishing" discussion group, but I'm guessing that people who have gone fishing have, at one time in their life or another, gone digging for clams as well.

So, the question is, does anybody know of a place to dig for clams? About 10-15 years ago, Boundary Bay and Birch Bay were good places to go...Since then, pollution levels have gone up, and stocks of marine life have gone down. Are these still good places to go? What other choices do I have?

hey tim,

Whenever i've been to Spanish Banks (west side Vancouver) i've noticed a lot of clam holes there and people digging them up. I'm not sure if they're big enough, but it appears that there are tons of them...the area is basically perfect for them...miles of sandy beaches and when the tide is out, you can walk out very far.
