Sea Tux.....Just Great !!! Bought mine for $200 at M&Y Flyshop

<15672>
Ian, go to costco or Wal-Mart and get bushline neoprenes they're only $80.00. Then go to the shoe section and buy a pair of $10.00 shoes to go with them.
<15674>
Don't buy River Rats they suck the big 1!
<15678>
Sea Tux are very good. Tom Murray's company offers good service when needed as well.

<15679>
Ian, Don't go to costco or walmart for your waders. Walmart is where you buy swivesl and weights, not proper gear for fishing in the Pacific Northwest. If you enjoy being wet inside your waders or buying new ones after 2 seasons that's okay. My advise is buy them right and only once. Check out www.myflyshop.com And no I don't work for them. But I did buy a pair of waders at Costco and they leaked after 6 months , a nice slow anoying little leak that you could never pinpoint but man did it ever get chilly in the fall.

<15683>
Ian, I have a pair of Bare waders I use that have lasted me for a few years. They may be a little more expensive, and really hot sometimes, but they last forever. Never leak. At WalMart, you get what you pay for, they're junk.
<15684>
Ian i too use bare and have had no problems,Like rob sais u get what you pay for,Email me i can get you a good deal on some....
<15687>
I had my Bare neoprens for 3 years now and never had a problem with them. Last summer, I slipped and bangned my knee on a sharp rock. My knee was bleeding but my waders were unharmed. Might be a little more expensive, but hey, what's the point of buying waders that will let you down and keep you from fishing because you had to send them to repairs. Patrice One question, why not breathables. I looked at them at hubs last week for my wife and they look pretty good.
<15693>
Ya I think I am gonna get either the sea tuxes or bares. Brad I will fire ya an email tonight after work. Thanks for all the replys! Patrice, the reason for neoprenes and not breathables is I have heard they are pretty cold and the amount of steelheading I do tiwould just be pointless. Neoprenes are very warm, though killer in the summer.
<15696>
Go to canadian tire and get a set of northern escape waders. They are not neoprene but they are nylon and they breath and are only 40 bucks.
<15700>
I have Bare blackwaters and have not been to impressed. I have had a foot replaced and the knee fixed as well. They are not yet a year old. If you do alot of walking and bushwacking they are not made for it. They are comfortable as hell though. In all kinds of weather they are really addictive. I will have get a pair of neoprenes for the really dirty stuff.

<15701>
I've seen Ian fishing on the vedder and cehalias, I think he would suite the walmart/costco waders I'm talking about.
<15702>
I saw AlFavaro working in WAlMART!!
<15703>
Horseass, You got a problem buddy>? If you have seen me, why did you not have enough balls to come over and say that too me? It is one thing posting on the internet buddy, but say it too my face. Are you not the same guy that was telling people too go fish in slesse creek for steelhead>? You really live up too your name well buddy!
<15705>
Actually Ross, now that I think about it, I think I did see horsesass working at WAL-MART. He is that poor retarded fellow at the front door that says "HI WELCOME TO WAL MART"
<15706>
It's Too bad that people like Alfavaro dont spend as much time fishing as they do trying to sound like they know what their talking about. What was the point in that post ...to try to show all the fisherman on this board that you fished the vedder or the chehalis once...get out on the river and fish once in awhile you beak.... if you have something to say to someone say it to their face instead of hiding behind your comp like a little kid!!!
<15707>
It is a shame that certain people ruin this board. Almost as bad as the guys who come out during the sockeye fishery...lol.
<15708>
Anyways, back to waders, I am looking to replace my Ronnie breatheables because they are garb! Anyone have a good idea what the best choice for breathables would be... Don't really wanna spend $550 either. Thx.

<15709>
Ian, I bought my first breathable last year and it has been great. For steelheading, i just wear a nice thick fleece pants and im actually warmer since my waders dont accumulate sweat. Not a word of lie, I'll never go back to neoprenes.
<15711>
Mark, I have Lacrosse breathables, paid $250 last year and never had a problem, check it out.
<15712>
i have the bare ultra light weaders I blew every seam on em hikin the cap. you cant move in them nearly as well as neopreans cuz they have no stretch.
<15713>
haha casey remember that trip??? we came out with fish.... and you came out wet and dirty with ripped waders. Ohh well you win some you lose some. Ian go with the BARE neos like i have there the best for the money!
<15718>
Does anybody make neoprenes off the shelf for tall individuals. I am 6'6" and about 230 lbs. ... don't want to pay the custom costs if I don't have to. Anybody out there in the same size range? Probably stop by M&Y one of these days and talk to them and see if they have anything?
<15719>
bushwhacking fisherman should invest in the cheapest and loose fitting waders, also critical is a damn good pair of boots to keep pebbles out, also a carton of aquaseal for the eventual bottom bouncer that reefs his 3/0 gammie along your 2 day old waders, murphys law
<15720>
Ross, that was funny when casey sat up at the top of the trail at the cap and me and you and me fished in cable and sleyed em. haha Casey

I've got Bare waders, and I love 'em. As for those bushline crap waders, my buddy has a pair, and they worked great, for about 2 weeks. Now, whenever he gets out of them after being in the tube all day, he looks like he had a liitle "accident", and he has about a litre of water in each leg. If you like being soaked, buy bushlines. If you like being high and dry, Bare all the way. Tight Lines Dan

I know two people who have now had problems with the Bare breathables (blackwaters) and leaking and this isn't after extended use and one of them had problems with two new pairs (one new one and the warranty replacement). I Mean they're good for the replacement with the warranty but what a pain in the you know what driving out to Langley all the time to take your pair of breathables into getting fixed or replaced. I know someone who has done some fairly extensive bush whacking in a pair of Bare Ultralights (non breathable, 120 bucks or so) and he has a fairly lose pair and I think Cam is definately right, buy a lose fitting pair so as to have some room to move and you shouldn't have too much of a problem. I have a pair of Bare Supra 4's. Nice waders, done me proud to date. Invest in some Aquaseal if you're whacking zee bush and check your waders every few weeks and you shouldn't have a problem with leaks. Heres a tip I learned that works. Everytime you use your aquaseal make sure you close the tube tight and put it in the freezer (and then thaw it out when you plan on using it again). I know, I know, this sounds funny but it works. It stops the curing process and you'll actually be able to get the tube open the next time you use it instead of the front 1/3 of the tube curing on you and you have to cut the tube in half to use it next time. I like the Supra 4's because they come with reinforced knees and knee pads. Even in the Winter I sweat in them. I say maybe a good compromise for you Ian is look into a pair of 2 mm or 3.5 mm waders. A bit lighter and if you need some insulation just wear a pair of Long Johns (although I think neoprene even that thin should do you well). They'll most likely be a bit less constrictive and won't have the added weight that comes with 4 or 5 mm neoprenes. Michael and Young retails Simms WAders, I believe they have a pair or two of their BiPolar Neoprenes which are 3.5 mm. I think Sea Tux and both Bare also retail 2 mm or around there waders (I could be wrong, check into it though?). Bare and SeaTux might be the better way to go though as they are both local (Sea Tux is on the Island isn't it?) I don't know, maybe something to consider if you don't want to look at the breathable realm.

<15759>
I have Sea Tux waders from M&Y and they are great. Yes they can be warm in the summer but I wear shorts and a t-shirt and no real prob. I've worn breathables (sub. leakables) in the winter and even with fleece, extra pants and two pairs of socks I was freezing by the end of the day. Maybe breathables in the summer time if you can afford two pairs but if you are like MOST anglers you only own one pair at a time, I would make it the neoprene's. There, my two cents worth and I will probably be severely whipped with a wet noodle for it. Tight Lines -- Dan.

<15773>
hey i have been sick i havent been hear to defend my self yeah that was some funny s#!t at leased the water wasnt to cold :)
<15774>
Casey, when you bought your ultra lights, you didnt get the right size. I think the way to go is to get sized for Neoprene and then go one or 2 sizes bigger for breathables. Ian, I would go with the Bare Supra 4. They are great and I have had no problems with them. Just about everyone who has them are pleased.
<15775>
Scott if your talking about my blackwaters leaking its because of a hook. Its not on a seam. If theres a leak on the seams, its warranty. You cant say a pair of waders sucks, if you are the one who put the hook in it. And believe me peoply say that. Not just about waders but about any product there un happy about.
<15776>
thats a good point greg but if i blow them out again im going to try and find the hodgman light weights that stretch and see if they are any better.
