met a guy today on the stave with a bucket and two bags of borax,in the bucket was a chum head and tail,in one bag of borax was dog roe.sound odd.

Maybe he was keeping the head and tail due to DFO regs that require being able to identify the fish caught, if you want to fully dress it on site. Just a thought. Although I would think that you might consider that "wasting fish" Cheers.

Interesting moral question. If you're planning to dump the carcass anyways, what better place than the river to feed all the fry etc? Is leaving it behind legal? The landfill has got to be worse. Probably not, wasted fish and all. What do the commercial roe fishing guys do with them, smoke it and sell it to tourists, yuck!?? Al
