i was wondering if anyone knows how to fix hip waiters! i have a couple of holes by my feet on the seam. Ive tried using aquaseal but it didnt cover the holes. The tape covering the seam is lifting a bit and i just cant get them to stop leaking. im pretty sure that the water is coming through the seam but im not 100% sure. if anyone has an idea of how i could fix this problem that would be great to hear! I was also wondering how the spring fishing has been on the vedder? thanx all and good fishing!!!!!! Mike, try running aquaseal alond the whole seam, (tip: heat up the aquaseal, by leaving the tube in hot water for five minutes, this will increse viscosity and ease application) failing this, bring your waiters to any good tackle shop (berry's, Freds, Hub, Babcocks, sorry any shops left out!!) and ask you to get new boots sewn on. Probably the manufacturer will do this. Hope this helps --admin could you please keep this up for a day or two--thanks |

Duct tape and more aqua seal. I used aqua seal on my waders, and found it to work very well, but I have a bad habit of being lazy and sitting down in the bush, so I'm still "Water cooled" when I'm in the river or tube. Good luck. Tight Lines Dan

Mike, Find where the leaks are before you start gooing up everything. Fill a laundry tub, or bath tub up, trap air in the area that seems to leak, submerse the area, squeeze it to force the air out and mark where the exit holes are. This is what a manufacturer would do. (although they have proper testing tanks etc..) Aqua Seal or Shoe Goo will work. Heat the area slightly with a hair dryer. Apply the sealing agent and heat it up again. This helps to sweat the sealer into the wound, and you don't have to cover a large area.
