It's a classic style West Coast Salmon plug - like the Lucky Louie, Tomic or the Mac Squid. I haven't seen one for some years but they used to be made out of wood and were popular (and still could be for all I know) for trolling for big trout in lakes like Okanagan, Kootenay and Arrow.

Thanks for your information Ralph. But I wonder if there is now something different as I have checked the Kamloops area fishing report on this site and it mentions its success in Stump , Tunkwa lakes and the Chataway area lakes.

Lyman makes a small plug that gear fishermen use in lakes such as those you've mentioned.
