I have been trying to get a knot out of the sinktip portion of my SA Line. The windknot is so tight that the line will probably get mangled trying to remove it. Is it better to leave the knot or to cut it out and then somehow fuse the pieces together again? Its a 9wt line. Any help would be appreciated.

where is the knot? If it's within a foot or 2 of the tip - just cut the line. Otherwise if the knot isn't causing problems while fishing 0 just leave it.

You may be able to tease it out, with minimal harm using a blunted needle...with the aid of a 10-15X jewellers loupe. Loupes as these can be had at forestry technical supply houses, like neville-crosby, acklands, fleck brothers, fred goertz, etc. for about 15.00 or so....these things are invaluable in tackle tinkering, sliver removal, and general magnification needs.
