I have aquired a Hardy Major. Legally. I do not want a Hardy Major. 4 sets of eyeballs enlarged up here when I said I had one. I could feel the lust in the air. *Laugh*.. I do not want to exploit anybody, and vice-versa. The reel is mechanically correct. Just the anodizing coming off around the crank area, and here and there on the spool from use. No scratches, or dings to speak of. I would put it on the lower side of middle to a serious collector, and the high side of middle to a sport wanting to fish the reel. What would be a reasonable asking price for the reel. Thanks.

Sorry guys....I have *already* been offered a Sensung rod and reel combo, complete with Woodwards white 12 pound mono, (along with a few hundred dollars).... Cat... you reel is nearly ready according the the service tech.... there was a glitch with a few parts he sorted out.

OK I recognize now that I tried to lowball yah. Ok I'll up the anti.... My Denso Lite Rod, A 15 year old spool of 600 yards of 12 lb Stren, 4 old fibreglass trolling and mooching rods (some even have a few guides on them) and I'll even throw in my old 22" Trophy XL Belly boat that I haven't used in four years. THere! now that's a damn good deal and I am expecting you to be phoning me any minute now begging me to complete the deal. Yeah Its tough being so damn generous, but I get used to it heeheehee Cheers

Ken the major is a fairly rare model. I don't believe it was manufactured after 1940. Some years back when the market for old Hardy centre pins was hot I sold a Superba and a Super for my in laws (estate items) the Super which was in rough shape got $275 and the superba (good shape)$400 I'd guess it's value at between $400 and $1000 but you have to find a willing buyer. There are catalogues for collectors that are available for the UK market that may provide a value in GBP but the value of a centrePin in BC should be higher as this seems to be the home of this particular cult.
