Well I guess my wife is over the initial shock of my new Sage 3113, so I guess she'll go ballistic when she finds out I'm buying a new fishing jacket. I understand the Bare Kodiak is just about the best on the market, can anyone give me any pros or cons on this jacket. Also does anyone else have to hide fishing gear from their wives or is it just me?

I don't have any info on the jacket you are about to purchase; however I do know something about wives. Either claim that your new purchase is really an old one that you have taken good care of. Or, keep your fishing stuff in such a mess at home that she won't go looking. The final option requires the least amount of sneeking around: tell her the truth, enjoy your new kit and ignore her rants. ps. Remember where she spends her money, and use that in counter arguements.

The Bare jackets are really nice.Breathable waterproof and very durable.I used mine for a week in the Queen Charlottes in October(we know how wet it gets there)and I was totally impressed.They're a nice looking jacket to boot.As for your wife its time to explain the facts of life.For instance if you store an 8 weight rod and a 6 weight together they will have offspring often a sweet little 4 weight.I know this for a fact. I left my 4110 on my rack with a 3106 and low and behold a 2106 appears.My wife doesn't subscribe to this theory but there's no denying the facts.If that doesn't work email for some really neat ways to sneak a 10 foot rod into your house.I have several methods.

RGC, your "truth" theory just won't work around my house, not since my wife asked me to help her flip the mattress once and I could'nt give her a good explanation as to how that Hardys Silex reel had managed to find its way between the mattress and boxspring. Ah but what the hell, I'm just gonna' buy the damn jacket and see if she thinks its my old Fenwick what do ya figure? And Mike P. just wondering if I leave my Abu 7000 in a dark drawer with my Abu 6500 will they spawm lil' Abu 5500s'?

Scott, are you talkin' about big Dan the Irish man? If so, yes he has explained to me just how a wife/fishing relationship is supposed to go, and if you have ALOT of spare time on your hands ask him about it next time you see him (ha ha ha). So what do you think about these Bare jackets? Any good? I've got an old Fenwick but I don't think its as good as the Bare jackets. Also when you see Danno next time tell him to take that old roe out of his jacket, the neighbourhood is starting to stink a little.
