One More Cast Bought a reel from Steve Kay @ Steveston Hardware in Langley a few months back. It so happened to bugger up on me . I took it back to them and they turned me over to Mike for repair. It turned out to be in the shop before I had even bought it . With this info I took it back to Steveston Hardware To get a new one in its place .Steve was no longer with them so I spoke with Stewart the manager, and the bottom line was that it wasn't there problem that they had sold me a reconditioned , not new reel. That I would have to go to the manufacturer and hash it out with them.Is this good customer sevice or what!?. What does that tell you about buying anything from them? Oh ya! I had it out with Stewart right in the store and got nowhere.I even asked for a discount on the reel just for the fact that it was not new , not a chance man!. What it all boils down to is ,BUYER BEWARE at that location.Make sure it is brand new and it is in an un opened carton or package .I shall not return. Tight Lines |

Well, I'm not defending Steveston Marine, but I just wanna put my 2 cents in. Just because the reel was in the shop, doesn't mean it's a used or reconditioned reel. I've repaired many reels from sport shops that have actually broken while they were showing customers. There's one that I've just done that been there 2 times, same thing happened while he was showing it to the customer. Maybe he's a little rough with them, I don't know. Anyways..... What condition was the reel in when you bought it? Could you tell it was used? Or maybe it was store stock that got sent to Mikes. Oh, what kind of reel is it, and what problems are you having with it anyways??? Ok ok, I am done. Sorry, I know this shouldn't be in the reports, just had to put my thoughts in on this one |

(One more Cast) I agree 100% with you. Even if it breaks while doing a DEMO you should be told that it has been fixed. New is in the box and not played with. Thanks for the post. I WILL NOT be in that store ever. Off topic for a sec but I just bought my wife a new Civic LX and when we were looking I wanted to sit in a new car and the guy said no the only person who sits in this one is the new owner. I loved to hear that policy. Anyways great little car. Cheers, Mars |

Someone asked about the reel I had a problem with that I bought @ Steveston Hardware& Marine? It was a Abu Garcia 6500C4. By the way , the great people at Abu replaced my reel with no problem and sending there rep to rip a strip out of them. This has put a write up in Abu Garcia Companys bad books they told me.Hopefully this will open there eyes to better there standards of customer service .I still have no intensions of buying from them.
