Just wondering if any of you guys have used/own or otherwise Winston Flyrods. I'm asking for a 10" 4 or 5 wght for christmas. I definitely want a hardwood handle, and ceramic guides. I don't want another sage. I'm looking at talons, and someone mentioned Winston. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or any other types of rods Jesse

What are you looking for in a rod? I don't mean cosmetics, I'm talking about action. Winston makes some excellent rods, their Extremes are super fast and can cast a mile but if your looking for a 10' I can only assume your wanting it for use in your float tube. Have you tested out rods to know what type of action you are comfortable with?

Med fast to fast I'd say. I want something that loads nicely, where the rod takes the weight of the line and not your whole arm and doesn't noodle. Also I want it to be a sensitive rod. That's part of the hardwood handle, besides the fact cork dries my hands out in half a day of casting. Yeah, the extra length is for the b-boat, the tin boat and for bigger rivers. I have two other 5 wght. rods, one dragonfly that's just under 9" and a sage that's just over 8", and want something that I can throw a bit more line with. The sage is great in a med. sized river, but's lacking in a tin boat, with the high gunnels and two guys in there casting, and I don't really like the dragonfly. I have tried a talon, and have casted a few g-loomis' and they don't feel quit as sensitive as the sage, but from what I hear they aren't as prone to breakage.
