Steelhead Flyfishing

At the end of september I'm planning a trip with 3 friends to bc for steelhead fishing. I've done this once before. We were in BC for three weeks and caught some steelhead in The Morice and Kispiox river. This time we only have one week in BC and we don't have that much time to figure things out on the wrong places etc. like I did in my last trip. Now I'm trying to find out if there are campsites and fishing opportunities availabe on the Babine, Copper etc. without the need of renting a guide and paying very much money (we cannot afford 100-200 dollar per person per day. On the internet I can only find these exclusive expensive lodges and guides.

I hope anyone can help finding out where to go.

Thanks, Bob

Anybody having any great winter runs of Steelhead in there local rivers?

To be honest, the Veddar is probably one of the best for steelhead in the lower mainland. In terms of the province I can name a few.. the dean river, excellent winter and summer run steelhead but you need a plane to get there, the skeena, the campbell river, the gold river, apparenlt cowichan river is not bad at times. The thompson river is excellent. The Chehalis is off an on. But these rivers might not really cater to steelhead fishing, as they all have fairly deep mainstreams in the river, which steelhead tend to prefer, which doesn't cater to fly fishing.
