Has anyone tried flinging flies from Ambleside? What patterns are necessary, and where do you get them? What species are available here, and do they come in close enough for flycasting?

it's a spinning gong-show.a fly rod will NOT be welcome-there's just no room.coho are the target species-for more info why not phone Dave Steele at Highwater Tackle in N.Van.

yes,but not too far.at the lowest tides it's possible to trek out to the light at the mouth(+or-).howeve it's fast and a long way to cast.Ambleside is THE place to be-but not the only place.why not head down and sniff around you might find some space.
