Spey Reel Recommendations?
My friend is looking to buy a new Spey reel and is on a bit of a budget. I have a Lamson LightSpeed 4 and love it but he isn't ready to drop $300 USD.

Any thoughts out there for a good reel?

Also, last time I was in Chilliwack BC I was looking at another rod, an English made Spey Rod in a tackle shop (with Barber shop attached). It was English made, I think it had a black blank and silver trim, nice feel and only ran about $160 USD with the exchange rate.

I guess here is my question: Does anyone know the name of that rod or even the name of the store so I can call them and find out more info???

A BFR (Leeda), Magnum 200D reel costs only around $130 CDN or so and makes a good inexpensive Spey Reel. I got mine at Michael and Young's
