I am trying to teach myself the fine art of fly fishing, but that is not
working for me. I would like to take some lessons, but when I open my wallet, out comes the butterflies! Is there anybody in the Prince George area, that could teach me properly? I am looking for cheap, and hopefuly some free lessons. Any advice and tips would help me out a lot. Thanks

Daylon, I suggest you surf the web for sites that provide basic info for beginners. casting is the 1st and most signficant hurdle. Another good source of info is a public library. Look for books and videos that provide photos illustrating proper casting technique. After that practice!

There are flyfishing clubs in Prince George. You can find them with a search on Google.com

Daylon, if your hook is bare after three casts it sounds like you aren't waiting long enough on the backcact before you start your forward cast. Kinda like crackin the whip. I'm in PG and would gladly offer some help. I'm no expert though, but I'm sure I could get you going a little better. The boys at Northern Trout Fitters are always helpful and the Polar Coachman Flyfishers offer free clinics. If you are still stuck give me a shout on email and I'll gladly help.
