About Us

Located in one of the world’s premier salmon fishing destinations, Duncanby Lodge is strategically positioned in the mouth of Rivers Inlet. The breathtaking scenery that surrounds this coastal paradise is only the tip of the iceberg, while below the surface, and only 5 minutes from the lodge, the waters are teeming with rockfish, lingcod, giant halibut and all five salmon species. It is also well known that our waters are home to some of the largest Chinook salmon in the world!

We ask everyone to come and experience the ‘Duncanby Difference’. The difference is the freedom you receive to make all the decisions from the moment you arrive until the day you return home. At Duncanby, you fish with whatever gear you want, when you want, and for however long you please. We have no set meal times, and you may eat whatever you choose and as much as you would like in our fantastic gourmet restaurant. The key is it’s your holiday, and therefore your choice!

Packages/Accommodation

We offer 4 day/3night and 5 day/4 night all-inclusive packages with a direct flight from Sea Air’s terminal out of the Fraser River. Packages include flights to and from the lodge, food, house beer and wine, all necessary fishing gear, and unlimited use of our unguided boats. The lodge will comfortably accommodate 30 guest based on double occupancy; however we can, and have, successfully managed corporate trips of 40 people. You will feel right at home in our newly constructed cedar cabins; capable of sleeping 2-3 guests per room.

Guiding

Guides services provide guests with a 12 hour charter aboard one of our very comfortable 22-26ft Grady Whites. Our team of eight guides have a wealth of local knowledge that will ensure you are fishing the right spots with the best gear, so you create and capitalize on all opportunities. Because you never know when you’ll hook the fish of your lifetime!

Equipment and Gear

Duncanby offers a variety of gear that will satisfy any client’s preference. We believe fishing is all confidence; this is why we offer a buffet of lures including hoochies, spoons, plugs, anchovies, and traditional mooching gear. Our unguided fleet consists of 17ft Hurston Glass Crafts and 16ft Boston Whaler Dauntless , all of which are equipped with downriggers, GPS, fish finder, VHF radio, bilge pump and 50, 60 or 70 hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboard.

Location

Our land base lodge is located in the mouth of Rivers Inlet in the locally known area of Goose Bay. The lodge is a quick 1.5 hour (approximately 300 miles) direct flight aboard one of Sea Air’s very comfortable Cessna 208 Caravans.
