| Nicola Valley Outdoor's Interior Fishing Report for May 28th |
Up and down, up and down.
The barometer, and ergo the fishing.
Having said that, every time we get a half a day of stable weather, high or low doesn’t matter, we have good fishing.
Chironomids are going strong, mayflies are popping all over, Peterhope for sure we have been told.
Most of the lakes over Pike Mountain way have been fair or better for those putting time in with flies or trolling old standbys like willow leafs and wedding bands.
Kidd lake put out a 13lb ‘bow last weekend. Not bad on a size 14 chironomid. Lundbom was slow for a few days but is picking up now. Micro leeches are good in the evening. Just ask Aaron T about his favourite Black/red orange bead killer.
Small flashy lures are picking up Kokanee on Nicola lake right now. The roses are just starting to bloom so the fishing for these tasty guys will only get better for few weeks now. Trolling or casting red Doc Spratleys, Gold bead Red leeches and Carey Specials will do the trick.
Get out and have some fun.
