Fraser Valley Report
Water Conditions - The water conditions are perfect for bar fishing for Chinook or bottom bouncing for sockeye. Water temperatures are slightly above average but nothing to get worried about. It looks as though we will have a retention fishery well into September so give us a call and take advantage of our great rates and great fishing.
Steal of a Deal - Book a private charter boat for only $550. Trip includes 6 hours guided sturgeon fishing, all fishing tackle, bait, private guide and jet boat, up to 4 anglers per boat. (trip must be used before Sept 15, 2010) Salmon - Salmon fishing has been fair to excellent on the Fraser Between Mission and Hope. Most anglers are coming back with limits of sockeye and lucky anglers are getting their Chinook as well. Fishing has been excellent for the most part but when they have a commercial opening it does slow fishing down considerably.
If you are planning on going out, the most productive bars have been Fergusons, Queens, Wellington, Spring Bar and Herling Island. Anglers Bottom Bouncing have been fishing Grassy, Peg Leg, Agassiz and Hope Scale Bar. Spring bar along Hwy 7 has been busy but there is good access for shore anglers.

Sturgeon
Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River has been excellent. The Mission to Chilliwack area has been producing some great fishing with several fish over 8ft being caught this week by our guides. Best baits have included roe, belly strips and fresh gills. Anything sockeye is working well.

New Sturgeon Adventure offered - STS Guiding is now offering another unique fishing opportunity on the Fraser River. To add to our already popular canyon fishing adventures, we are now offering Linton to Lillooet Sturgeon Fishing Adventures.
The Fraser River between Linton and Lillooet is one the least fished sections of the Fraser River. This region receives 5 inches of rainfall each year which is rated as one of the driest climates in the country. Spectacular scenery, no crowds, excellent wildlife viewing opportunities for Big Horn Sheep, Black and Brown Bear, Deer not to mention great fishing for sturgeon up to 11ft.
We are now offering day trips and overnight accommodations package in our exclusive riverside Yurts. What is a yurt?
Accommodations in our Yurts have much the same feel as a cabin, but all in one room. Originally designed in Mongolia as nomadic shelters today's Yurts are designed for comfort lodging. Yurts are a cross between a cabin & a tent and offer an efficient year around engineered shelter that are simply beautiful to stay in. Your Yurt Lodging also features rustic log furniture, wood flooring, queen size beds, futon, table, chairs and a small storage cabinet. Please call or e-mail us for rates. |
| Trout fishing in the Valley |
Trout fishing has been fair to good on the Pitt River. Mostly smaller trout in the 10 to 18 inch range but lots of sockeye salmon starting to move into the river. Also heard of a few larger Chinook Salmon rolling around in deeper pools. Water conditions are perfect for fly fishing and spin fishing. We are offering daily trips to the Upper Pitt.
Salmon & Trout fly fishing Adventures
45 minutes from Vancouver is one of British Columbia's best-kept secrets. The Upper Pitt River is located at the north end of Pitt Lake, North America's only freshwater tidal lake. Each summer the Upper Pitt River receives tens of thousands of sockeye salmon and Fall brings in the Coho salmon. Following along are the resident and sea-run Cutthroat trout which feed heavily on the salmon eggs. Salmon are just beginning to enter this system so we should be in for another great year. We will be offering remote fly fishing trips to the Upper Pitt river for both salmon and trout until late October. |

| Harrison River |
| The Harrison River in great shape, water conditions are perfect for fishing for salmon, trout or sturgeon. Lots of sockeye splashing in the river near the water tower. If your wanting to fish for sockeye in the Harrison, it is only open to retention below the Highway 7 bridge, above the bridge is closed to retention. If you want to try your luck, try fishing with sand shrimp or krill under a float. It works great but you do need to be patient. |
| Vancouver Saltwater Report |
The Capilano Coho have shown up and fishing has been great. Lots of hatchery and wild Coho being caught off the pink apartments and in front of the Capilano. It looks like we might get a sockeye opening for mouth of Fraser in the next day or two, that would be great for those who like to troll in the ocean. Also some excellent Chinook opportunities as well.
