Brian Wong winner of the AnglingBC and Giver on the River Free Charter for 2 on the Fraser River.
I'm very glad to win the fishing contest for the full day fishing charter for two. I've been following Angling BC for quite sometime and recently decided to contribute to some of the things I've seen on my fishing outings.

I've been a follower of Angling BC for a number of years. I've always enjoyed some of the comments made on fishing on this website as well as some of the fishermen. I'm from Coquitlam. I started out doing a lot of fly fishing in the interior lakes for rainbow trout around Kamloops when I was younger. I also fished the salt chuck out in Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island but now days spend most of my time river fishing the Fraser River Area.

Here is my fishing report from my trip:
I fortunately had a fishing trip of a life time today. I would like to personally thank Peter our guide of Giver on the River.ca and Angling BC for a great fishing outing today.
We bar fished Bowman Bar on the Fraser River in the morning and managed to hook into a nice chrome spring within the first 20 mins. which I unfortunately lost near the boat. The next fish brought into the boat was a big male colored chum which we released back into the water. There were some fly fishermen just above us and they manage to catch and release a nice chromey coho. We had some more bites here & there but we decided to head up and fish the mouth of the Vedder. There were lots of boats there and coho being caught on spoons around us. We had lots of nibbles but nothing to talk about until one of us hook and brought in a nice 18lb white spring. Needless to say that the day had to end and the ride back on the jet boat was fantastic.
If you ever wanted to go out on a guided fishing trip look up Giver on the River.ca and ask for Peter.
I stopped by the Stave River on my way home. The water level has risen on the river. The little bridge across the side creek did have some nice flow of water and a few chum swimming upstream. So it won't be long before more start showing up. They're just late showing up this year.
