| The Kitimat RED |
 The Kitimat RED is a simple and very effective fly that was built as an INTRUDER style for CHINOOK salmon on the Kitimat river. Already proven on the Skeena River, this fly has enough qualities to lure multiple species from their suspected lie, and with the simple change of the tail color, ALL water conditions can be matched for the species you are after. This is another trailer-looped fly, I prefer to use stainless steel cable as chinook can reach HUGE weights, demolishing flies in the process of an exhausting battle. Other popular colors to have in your box are: Chartruese/Black, Blue/Black, and Flame/black.
Vision hook sizes #1/0-2/0 (big enough to allow the 7 inch piece of stainless steel cable (0.19) or tiger wire or slick shooter, through eye of hook, doubled over, tied with BIG FLY Thread or Kevlar for superior strength
Eyes: Medium sized eyes of your choice
Tail: Red marabou (just long enough so the tips are par with the trailer hook shank)
Body: Black or purple Polar UV wrapped from tail to half way up the shank
Legs: 2-groups of (6 strands) of Ostritch or Rhea feathers, layed on either side of the fly
Red flash (optional)
Body Thread: 6/0 any color, preferably black
