NEW TD ZILLION BAITCASTER OFFERS BLAZING 7.1 TO 1 RETRIEVE, COMPACT DESIGN
CERRITOS, Calif., Dec. 7, 2006 – Just introduced are four new Team Daiwa® Zillion™ baitcasting reels from Daiwa. Right and left hand retrieve models are available in either an all-purpose 6.3 to 1 retrieve or, of special note, a super high-speed 7.1 to 1 version.
In 1986, Daiwa introduced bass anglers to the world’s first baitcasting reel with an unbelievably fast 7.1 to 1 retrieve ratio – the PT33SH – a reel still available today. Not only the fastest retrieving reel on the market, it surprised anglers with how much winding power it delivered. The secret to its combination of power and speed was the full support of the drive train within a rigid, inflexible frame. When you put heavy loads on the reel, components of the drive train couldn’t flex out of alignment and waste winding energy.
Now Daiwa has brought that same “warp-speed” concept into a modern, compact design, adding today’s latest technology for superior casting and line control. Another noteworthy Team Daiwa Zillion baitcaster feature is the new Swept Handle. Both sides of the handle sweep back slightly towards the reel, moving the paddles closer to the reel’s center line (closer to the rod). This helps eliminate wobble of the rod and reel in your hand as you crank, allowing the energy you put onto the handle to be converted more efficiently into a powerful retrieve.
Key features of the new TD Zillion reels include: Choice of ultra-fast 7.1 to 1 or all-purpose 6.3 to 1 retrieves Six ball bearings (including CRBB anti-corrosion bearings) plus roller bearing Swept handle for better feel, less wobble and greater winding power Free-floating perforated aluminum spool Infinite Anti-Reverse Fast spool change Magforce®-Z automatic anti-backlash system Eight-disc wet drag with precision click adjustment Rigid aluminum frame
