Joined: Mar 2006 The set up for sturgeon is very similar to barfing for salmon, except beefed up to handle much larger fish. I never fished the tidal portion but in the Chilliwack area I alway ran about 300 yards of 100lb tuff line main and 18" leaders of the same with 6/0 to 9/0 hooks depending on the bait being used. I dont remember the rod that I was using, only that it was an ugly stick that was similar to an 11' broom handle with line coming off of it when not in action but with 14 oz of weight and an 8' sturgeon on the end, it sure came to life. Do not go under gunned, you will regret it.
