Very spotty fishing last week. The fishing improved with the weather; during
the calm, sunny periods it was fish after fish. When the clouds rolled in and
the wind picked up, the bite went off. I was using a small olive coloured caddis,
dry line with a sinking tip. My brother was using a green shrimp. Fished the
weedbeds on the East side of the lake, between the 1st and 2nd islands.Casting
from the drop off to wards the bullrushes was productive. The bottom looks sandy,
and you can see the fish swimming from the bullrushes to the deeper weedbeds.
Lots of fair sized fish mixed in with the panfrys. Talked to some people who
were trolling, they were using lead lines with a flourescent green spoon, they
brought in some nice fish.

Fished Marquart from June 3 until yesterday. the first few days the weather
was bad, and the fishing was the same, was lucky to get one or two fish a day,
but was looking forward to the better weather forecast for Tuesday on, well
Tuesday came the burometer had risen a bit, but it was rainy and windy, but
we did get a decent chironomid hatch, and we also caught a few fish, Wednesday
the sun came out hot, should have been a great day, but with no chironomid hatch,
the fish also didnt cooperate, Thursday was a little better and Friday about
the same. all in all in the week I managed to catch a dozen fish, needless to
say I was doing better than most. had a 6 pounder 24 inches long, and one 20
inches, the rest down to 14 inches. caught all on chironomids, one eighth copper
bead with red rib over gun metal, and one eighth copper bead with green crystal
flash rib over brown stretch floss. I dont know what one can expect with the
unsettled weather. most of the bite was between 9 AM and 2 PM, Tight Lines.
