Thompson River

I live in the North Thompson and there are rainbow, whitefish and dollies. The
steelhead don't come too far past Spences bridge or so I have been told. The
river is slow and low here!

Date: Nov 18, 2006
Went to the Vedder canyon today and hooked 79,476,522 Coho in 3 hours. Most
were big chrome hatchery bucks. Had the whole river to myself, it was sweet.
Released them all, but kept one ripe chum for the smoker.

Rainbow Warrior... just to let you know: Yes they were steelhead, yes there
were resident rainbows, but not as part of the total, and all steelhead were
hooked in the jaw and released healthy. But let's not open the ugly can o' bait
controversy here.

Gordie... 200 coho is say 25 per hour if you put in an 8 hour day. So that means
a hookup every 2.4 min...everybody says BS!!! But have nice day in the canyon.

Fishon...Duh?..."What caught?"...Steelhead comes to mind, although
I'm surprised/disappointed that bait can still be used for this fishery.

Went there on Monday- river not too low, visibility good, and there were fish
there. Roe and prawns worked well, and helped a fly guy release a nice one.

Squamish River
By: Brian
Date: Nov 12, 2006
I have been to the squamish river(lower) 6 times since early October and everytime
I have had the opportunity to take 2 chrome doe chums caught by shortfloating
a jig, which means 12" leader that is dead-drifted under a float in slower
current which also means no flossing required. Chums do bite. To all those who
think they are catching chums with 4-6 foot leaders in fast tailouts or chutes
with 2 feet of vis- you are snagging them in the mouth or ass. Learning to get
fish to bite is what true sportsmen do. Practice it and pass it on.

Vedder is toast. and with the heavy rains expected this weekend, you can pretty
much count on this river to be finished until steelhead season. any reports
from the harrison or chehalis?

Inch Creek
By: obiefish
Date: Nov 7, 2006
Blown out; flowing only 2-3 feet under bridge and railroad trcks yesterday.
Stave dam is flowing hard and river is flowing high and darker, too, when I
checked today. People only catching/flossing chums. Almost as much variety of
presentation as Keith "Circus" Wlison Bridge. Very entertaining. Must
bring popcorn next time.

river is totally blown.....tamahi bridge closed at one point today, they think
it may go. road closed at anderson ponds (upstream of alison pools)....won't
be any fishing for a few a while on the vedder....you'd have to keep pulling
your gear out of the wy of the full grown cedars on thier way down the river.
20 homes evacuated near pointa vista.

Went to the top end today. Lots of fish, few biting, most flossed or jigged
with wool and short leaders. I got a few bites on egg sacs, nothing bright.
Saw lots of dark coho, and even the "bright" ones simply meant they
weren't red. Saw a class of Gr 7 students from Renfrew area in Van at Allison
Pool. They were having a blast. Maybe we can get some kids into fishing, too!
