Fished Harrison on weekend, TONS of fish. Drifted red/pink/green wool (mixed).
Chum every cast landed 49 pound spring, released of course after a pic. Thing
was freakin huge! Hit the fraser (mouth of harrison) never seen it so low and
CLEAR. Fishing just as good, but chum a lot cleaner. Killed 1 for the smoker,
this thing was almost chrome. The shine hurt my eyes! Shouldn't be this sunny
and warm in october. This is going to be the death of the smaller rivers. ie
chehalis... Rain IS a good thing.

I was out today. Seems to me that salmon run passed its peak this year. Comparing
last weekend less springs, fish are darker and lower in numbers. More dark dogs.
Coho? What's that. It seems to me that this fish will be soon protected in Vedder
as sturgen in Fraser. Third straigt year of low, very low runs of coho. This
year, most of fish I saw, or heard of were mostly wild fish. What happens with
the run?

fished this morning.....hit into lot's of springs....no coho.
river level has not changed much....came up about 10 cm but has dropped back
down (still up 5 from last week)....the fresh rain will bring fresh fish...most
fish hooked today dark......BTW what is with people taking black fish? you could
smoke them in 10 gallons of honey and they would still taste like mud.

Went to vedder /Chilliwack today. All the idiots elbow to elbow at the Keith
Wilson, crowds thinned out at Lickman road but all chums there and a few more
guys than I'd like up at Slesse creek but lots of hog springs and I actually
pulled out a nice clean coho. Also saw another guy leave with a coho also. Both
were about 7-8lbs a piece. Also saw a few jack springs get caught, haven't seen
many of those in the last few years.
