Dirtbiked from Squamish to the mouth of the Indian River (Across from Wigwam
Inn) Did not see ANY fish in the river from trout to salmon....nada....but very
beautiful place... 6 seals were haning off the mouth of the river so that might
explain the lack of fish

Fished the upper river for a couple of hours in the afternoon and landed a nice
20lb spring and fairly fresh chum. Both released for another day. Saw one beautiful
wild coho caught and gently released. Fish are here and there, just hard to
get them to hit. Went down to 6lb leader and a variety of wool colours from
peachy king to orange to red.

If you all park at Lickman Road parking lot and walk the trail downstream about
a 100 yds you will see a large boulder with a log jam. Try that spot, you will
gt you limit of Coho in a 1/2 hr or less. RED HOT!!!

Fished at a couple of places above Vedder crossing. Landed a spring jack and
a foul hooked hatchery coho (about 14 lbs, which was released). Saw a few spring
s hooked, but coho are still sparse. Look for deep waters and shade!

I have plenty of experience fishing the mouth of the river (sand heads) A close
and easy place to launch would be in steveston at the South end of # 2rd. There
is a pay launch and a non pay launch and either is ok with the size of your
boat but at low water the pay launch is best. I would use pink / red flasher
with a small pink huchy. When you get out there go to the new light which is
half a mile or so southwest of the Light house and drop the dowrigger any were
between 30-80 ft is fine and 60-120 ft for springs with green flasher and huchy.
Be careful of the weather out there when there is a westerly or northwest wind
it can get pretty rough out there . The current/tide is pretty fast and other
then that its just pretty general and watch when running in or out of the river
you dont run to close to the sandbar around the bend of the river , it comes
up pretty fast. Any other questions feel free to ask best of luck . tight lines
. . .

I think macdonald beach has a boat launch in richmond.for gear you need small
pink hoochies 24-30 inch leader 30lb in case you hit a spring, also thicker line
goes slower.also put some flashers on without hooks to attract the fish to follow
you.troll as slow as possible 30-60 ft. sandheads and t10 marker have been good.

This is where I think you spot the snagger from the flosser. The flosser realizes
the fishery is a harvest and goes out to get his two then goes home. The snagger
spends all day "catching" salmon because he is an excellent fisherman
and wants to show all his friends and family just how good he is.

Lots of the fish i caught had gill net marks on them, that is more stressfull
than five min.or less on a hook.

It is perfectly legal to catch and release as far as I know. When the total
run is millions and millions, anything the recreational anglers catch and/or
release are not even a drop in the bucket. The nets cause MUCH much much more
disruption.

the half retarded americans and europeans that seem to flood the vedder with
stupidity every fall.lets try to use a little common sense this year people
no jaming your hands in to the gills of wild coho that your not aloud to keep,no
catching your limit and putting it in ur car and catching ur limit again and
so on and so forth.

Fished at the lower fraser today around Shady Island Millions of fished were
jumping from morning till afternoon dont know whats gonna happen to this fish
when they arrive up the tributaries we manage to get our limit just in 2 hours
and just watching for the rest of hundreds of boat whom i believe got their
last sock for this season. its amazing that fished were bumping your line almost
every time you cast.every anchored right on the middle of the River. its gonna
be a good day upstream for tomorrow unless the Commercials knocked them down
early morning tomorrow, some of them are heading upstream already as they know
this huge run are heading upstream already goodluck for them.
